<? echo $title ;?>Rebecca Newberry, Office Manager / Head Receptionist

Rebecca Newberry joined the team at Pennington Animal Hospital in September 2014, but she's been employed in animal-related positions since 2010. Her job responsibilities at our animal hospital include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting clients.

"I love the atmosphere here," Rebecca says. "The doctors and staff are so friendly and helpful. They always put the care of the animals first."

At home, Rebecca is the pet parent to a five year old King Charles Spaniel named Bubba. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing video games, going for walks with Bubba, spending time with her family, and going to thrift stores with her mother.

<? echo $title ;?>Tonya Meinecke, Licensed Veterinary Technician

With her lifelong compassion for animal care, Tonya has been a valuable part of Pennington Animal Hospital's team since October 2001. Her responsibilities include administering and monitoring anesthesia, assisting during surgical and diagnostic procedures, radiographs, laboratory testing and routine dental procedures. Tonya has an Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology and is a licensed veterinary technician in Alabama.

"I have worked at Pennington Animal Hospital since I was 16 years old," she says. "This has been my first and only job, so I feel at home at the clinic. A lot of my knowledge and skills I have today were learned here."

At home Tonya cares for Pebbles and Bam Bam (Miniature Pinschers), Bosco (Labrador Retriever) and Yayo (Siamese cat). She also enjoys fishing, four wheeling, kayaking, gardening, boating, camping and taking her dogs to Flint River.

<? echo $title ;?>Jessica Phillips, Veterinary Assistant

Jessica is a dedicated and skilled veterinary technician who has been a member of the Pennington Animal Hospital team since 2013. Her responsibilities include taking samples for laboratory testing, radiographs, sterilizing instruments and equipment, assisting during dental procedures and preparing patients for surgery.

"The doctors and the staff work closely together and the degree of care and compassion shown every day makes this a great team to be a part of," she says. "We all try our best to provide the best care for each animal and that's rewarding."

Jessica has three dogs: Anna, a Chihuahua; Reese, a Labrador Retriever; and Honey, a Cocker Spaniel. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and her husband, riding her Harley, fishing and playing with her dogs.

Jennifer Worley is a veterinary technician that's been a passionate, committed member of the Pennington Animal Hospital staff since June of 2014. Her job responsibilities include assisting in dentals, prepping for surgery, caring for boarders during their stay, and making sure the clinic is clean.

"There's no single thing I like the most about working here, because everything is great," Jennifer says. "I'm doing what I love to do."

At home she cares for two dogs: an American Staffordshire named Naudia and an American Bulldog named Jake. In her free time Jennifer enjoys visiting family members, swimming, hunting, and fishing.

<? echo $title ;?>Christina Albert, Veterinary Assistant

Christina is our full-time veterinary assistant who joined our team in July 2018. She assists our veterinarians during examinations and lab procedures by comforting our patients, as well as providing daily care for the pets in the kennel. She received her veterinarian assistant certificate from Ross Medical School in April of 2017, as well as a certificate in pet first aid and CPR in March of 2018.

"Every day is a new experience," Christina shares. "[She loves] being a part of a team that helps in the caring and healing of animals."

In her free time, Christina enjoys cooking, reading, going to the movies, and spending time with her family.

<? echo $title ;?>Sistian "Noel" Bohanan, Veterinary Assistant

Sistian assists with surgeries, physical exams, running labs and bathing the dogs. She loves making sure each pet has plenty of attention and are happy during their stays. She is dedicated to patient care and always has a bubbly attitude! She has many pets - four dogs, three horses and many ducks, donkeys, geese and sheep! She loves showing some of her animals in competitions! Along with that, she enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, reading, camping, fishing and gardening.

Natalie Cason has been developing relationships with Pennington Animal Hospital's clients and their pets — her favorite part of her job — since October 2002. As our office manager and head receptionist, her responsibilities include scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, maintaining patient records and managing our supply inventory. Natalie has a bachelor's degree in psychology.

"I like working at Pennington Animal Hospital because I trust the doctors here to put the pets' needs at the forefront of care," she says. "Our team is dedicated to providing quality, caring pet care and it feels good to work for a clinic with such integrity."

Natalie has a domestic shorthair named Sherbert. She loves spending her free time visiting zoos and animal parks, reading and traveling.
